Factoring for the construction industry

Most factoring companies turn their noses up at anyone operating in the construction industry but there are one or two factors that have an interest in this area and we have arranged factoring for electrical contractors, flooring contractors, roofers and scaffolding companies already this year.

There is even a confidential factoring facility that can be used in cases where the main contractor refuses to deal with a factoring company.

In addition to normal factoring we have a relationship with a specialist finance company that can offer finance to subcontractors in the construction industry against interim stage payments on JCT contracts if the customer approves their documentation. The customer is likely to approve the documentation if the supplier offers a special product, or his service is in short supply.

In this instance the finance company needs to be involved at the start of such a contract and effectively they become the supplier to the customer or main contractor. This system works as uniquely in the trade finance industry, the finance company holds a CIS certificate.
